The Hands-On
Faculty Administration System allows the
university to manage financial and
administrative commitments made to
prospective and existing faculty. This
includes obligations such as: leave,
space, salary, research, grad aid, and other funding.
Hands-On complements
university administrative systems by
integrating with financial and HR data. It
includes a workflow engine that allows the university to obtain
approvals for
commitments made by the university based on user roles and workflow
rules. The workflow rules use
account manager
assignments and organisational hierarchy to compute the appropriate
routing and
approval path.
This system is being developed for Stanford
University’s
School
of Humanities and Sciences. It will be used by the Dean’s Office and
anyone who should be in the approval chain as defined by Stanford. It will be integrated with Oracle Financials,
PeopleSoft Human Resources, and Business Objects for Reporting.
Some of the user features include Faculty Action Forms (e.g.,
appointments, retirements, exits), Funding Commitments, Faculty Salary
